Are you getting enough Vitamin D?

Are you often too busy at work and not able to get out and enjoy the sun? If you have been feeling a bit off lately, you might need more vitamin D in your life.

Excessive sweating
A sweaty forehead is one of the most noticeable symptoms of vitamin D deficiency. If you find yourself heating up while your activity remains steady, you may want to consider a vitamin D test.

Your bones ache
Do you find your joints are stiff first thing in the morning? Vitamin D deficiency can present as generalised bone and muscle aches in adults.

You’ve got the blues
Although the jury is still out, a lack of vitamin D is said to decrease the levels of serotonin (the happy hormone) in your brain.

You are over 50
As you age, your skin’s ability to make vitamin D decreases, and the kidneys are less effective in converting vitamin D to a more usable form.

You’re overweight or obese
As vitamin D is fat soluble, the more body fat you have, the more diluted the levels of vitamin D in the blood. If you’re overweight or obese you may require more daily vitamin D to make up for this effect.
